Halloween Just Promoted To Be Holiday World
Amid today’s announcement about Holiday World’s new water coaster, Mammoth, there was another announcement that didn’t get as much fanfare, but I found it very exciting. Holiday World president Dan Koch says that the park will stay open weekends through the month of October in 2012 to host a Halloween event!
Holiday World to have Halloween event in 2012The event will be called “Holiday World’s Happy Halloween Weekends.” It is described as family-friendly.
Halloween events have been becoming more and more popular at theme parks around the United States. They generally take one of two paths – some parks hold events geared toward adults with haunted houses, paths filled with creepy characters and the like; while others go for a family event with more thrills than chills.
I’m thrilled to see Holiday World jump into the Halloween game and go the family-friendly route. It’s the only one that would fit, really, for the park. And I’m sure they will do a fabulous job with it. I’m excited to see what develops!
