Republicans Predict Romney will be the nominee

The poll results echo recent statements by the field of candidates. On Sunday, Newt Gingrich, falling further behind every day, admitted during an appearance on “Fox News Sunday” that his chance at grabbing the nomination are slim.
“Given the size of his organization, given the number of primaries he’s won, he is far and away the most likely Republican nominee,” he said. “If he does get to 1,144 delegates, I’ll support him. I’ll do everything I can this fall to help him beat President Obama.”
On the debut of former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee’s radio show Monday, Romney acknowledged Gingrich’s half-endorsement, and said that “in all likelihood” he would hit the delegate mark needed to seize the nomination.
Pew’s poll was conducted from April 5-8 with a sample of 1,000 adults, interviewed via telephone and with a margin of error of plus or minus 4%.  Source LA Times

Obama's stated guilty by Repulicans in Gop Debate and Presidential Debate

Obama's stated guilty by Repulicans in Gop Debate and Presidential Debate
Republican presidential contenders blamed the federal government on Tuesday for the struggling economy and harshly criticized Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke during the early stages of a 2012 debate.

Several of the Republicans seeking the nomination to unseat President Barack Obama in 2012 said government policies had led to the economic slowdown and refused to place blame on Wall Street or corporations.

"I think if you look at the problem with the economic meltdown, you can trace it right back to the federal government," Representative Michele Bachmann said in a debate at Dartmouth College in New Hampshire.

"It was the federal government that demanded that banks and mortgage companies lower platinum level lending standards to new lows," she said. "It was the federal government that pushed the subprime loans."

Former U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Newt Gingrich said politicians were to blame for the economy and pointed the finger at Bernanke and Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner.

"The first person to fire is Bernanke, who is a disastrous chairman of the Federal Reserve. The second person to fire is Geithner," he said.

"The fact is, in both the Bush and the Obama administrations, the fix has been in and I think it's perfectly reasonable for people to be angry," he said. "But let's be clear who put the fix in: The fix was put in by the federal government."

The debate, the seventh in the Republican race for the White House, was focused on economic issues.

The candidates also took shots at Obama for his role in the sagging economy.

"Three years ago we selected a person who'd never had any leadership experience, never worked in the private sector, never had the opportunity to actually bring people together, and he hasn't been able to do so," former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney said.

"He said he'd bring us hope and change. Instead he's divided the nation and tried to blame other people," he said.

Romney, whose 2008 White House bid failed, has retaken the lead in polls over Texas Governor Rick Perry but has still not won over conservatives who remember his past support in Massachusetts for abortion rights and a healthcare mandate.

Romney's campaign got a big boost on Tuesday when New Jersey Republican Governor Chris Christie, who is popular within the party, endorsed his candidacy.

The debate in New Hampshire comes three months before the first voting in the Republican race.

Perry was under pressure in the debate after a string of poor performances cost him his front-runner role.

Obama's Speaks Jobs Bill Fails controlled Senate Tuesday night

Obama's Speaks Jobs Bill Fails controlled Senate Tuesday night
The bill received a simply majority of 51 votes but fell short of the necessary 60 to end debate. Sens. Ben Nelson of Nebraska and Jon Tester of Montana were the only Democrats to vote against the bill. Both of them are facing tough re-election campaigns next year.

Sen. Jim Webb, D-Va., had said earlier that although he intended to vote in favor of ending the Republican filibuster, he did not intend to support the bill if it reached a final vote.

Now that it has failed, both the House and Senate are expected to turn this week to approving U.S. trade agreements with Colombia, Panama and South Korea, one of the few areas of agreement between Republicans and the administration on boosting the economy. And Senate Democrats are looking at ways of breaking the jobs bill into pieces that would be easier to pass.

Obama declared earlier Tuesday that the U.S. Senate faced a “moment of truth” when it voted on the bill, calling it "gut check time." He later issued a statement accusing Republicans of obstruction.

"Tonight's vote is by no means the end of this fight," Obama said. "We will now work with Senator Reid to make sure that the individual proposals in this jobs bill get a vote as soon as possible."

The White House Office of Management and Budget had said before Tuesday's vote that bill would help put Americans back to work without adding a dime to the deficit. And the White House sent a letter from 16 Democratic governors urging congressional leaders to pass the bill.

The White House also began highlighting on its website Tuesday the stories of people who will be affected if Congress doesn't pass the jobs bill, White House spokesman Jay Carney said.

But at the same time, acknowledging reality, Obama said he was prepared to break it into pieces and try to pass job-creation legislation that way.

The plan combines payroll tax cuts for workers and businesses with $175 billion in spending on roads, school repairs and other infrastructure, as well as unemployment assistance and help to local governments to avoid layoffs of teachers, firefighters and police.

Republican Tips To Cure The USA Economy

Mr. Romney offered crisp answers and made sure to take on the leadership of President Obama at his very first opportunity, refraining from any critique of his Republican opponents.

“Be prepared to be a leader,” he said, repeatedly stressing his business background and easily dropping the names of prominent economists. Asked at one point about potential appointees, he protested, “I’m not sure I’m the nominee yet!”

Mr. Perry, by contrast, still seemed halting in many of his answers, which were punctuated by “ums” and “uhs,” and although the televised debate in New Hampshire focused on the economy, he said he would unveil his own plans over the next few days; he plans to do so Friday.

“I’m not going to lay it out all for you tonight,” Mr. Perry said, explaining that he would seek energy independence for the nation. Asked about Mr. Romney’s lengthy economic plan, he said, “You know, Mitt’s had six years to be working on a plan. I’ve been in this for about eight weeks.”

This time, on the campus of Dartmouth College, the candidates sat around a table as if part of an unusually large panel on a talk show — an atmosphere underscored by the fact that Charlie Rose, the late-night PBS host, was one of the moderators.Read More

Beyond education level, career choices and income, whether you reside closer to a Whole Foods or a Cracker Barrel can also be a broad indicator of voting behavior. In 2008, 89 percent of Whole Foods stores in the US were in counties carried by Barack Obama and 62 percent of Cracker Barrel restaurants were in counties carried by John McCain, Charlie Cook and David Wasserman of the Cook Political Report recently found.

In the 2004 election, it was Starbucks drinkers versus Walmart shoppers that served as predictors for party affiliation. But as both chains have grown in size and scope, proximity to Whole Foods and Cracker Barrel now edge out the coffee and retail mega-chains, at least in terms of partisan indicators.

Ironically, the CEO of Whole Foods, libertarian John Mackey, is not Obama's biggest fan. In 2009 he penned a column for the Wall Street Journal on "The Whole Foods Alternative to ObamaCare."

Khadafi War still Fight Hard Compound Libya

Khadafi War still Fight Hard Compound Libya

CAIRO (Reuters) - The battle to take over Muammar Gaddafi's compound in Tripoli will be fierce, but anyone inside has little chance of escape, a rebel spokesman told Al Jazeera television on Monday.

"I don't imagine the Bab Al-Aziziyah compound will fall easily and I imagine there will be a fierce fight," Abdel Hafiz Goga, spokesman for the rebel National Transitional Council, said in an interview aired by the broadcaster.

"The rebels are forming checkpoints at the entrances of Tripoli and I do not think he (Muammar Gaddafi's son Mohammad) would be able to escape Tripoli, and the same applies to Colonel (Muammar) Gaddafi," he said.

The veteran Libyan leader's whereabouts since rebels took over most of Tripoli are unknown.

Mohammad, Gaddafi's eldest son, escaped on Monday from his Tripoli residence after he had been surrounded by rebel forces that had streamed into the city. Two other of Gaddafi's sons remain under arrest.

Gaddafi's huge Tripoli complex, which includes military barracks, has been targeted by NATO air strikes in recent weeks, but rebels said on Monday that it was still being defended by tanks and snipers.

Bab Al-Aziziya was the target of a 1986 U.S. bombing of Libya. President Ronald Reagan said it was in retaliation for what he called Libyan complicity in the bombing of a Berlin night club.

An Al Jazeera correspondent in Tripoli said on the air on Monday night that the situation in the city appeared mostly calm, but there was occasional gunfire and few people in the streets.

US will be 'partner' Libyan As Khadafi Breakdown

US President Barack Obama on Monday pressed Libyan strongman Moamer Kadhafi to explicitly give up power and warned joyful rebels against his rule that their struggle was "not over yet."

"But this much is clear: The Kadhafi regime is coming to an end, and the future of Libya is in the hands of its people," Obama said from his vacation retreat on the posh resort island of Martha's Vineyard.

Obama said he had spoken to British Prime Minister David Cameron and that US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton had held other high-level talks as the West planned for the post-Kadhafi era six months after the uprising began.

The US president, who has faced fire from lawmakers for his handling of the conflict, promised Libya's people that Washington will be "a friend and a partner" as the strife-torn country grapples with the "huge challenges ahead."

With fighting still raging in Tripoli despite rebel claims to hold the city, Obama warned that "the situation is still very fluid, there remains a degree of uncertainty, and there are still regime elements who pose a threat."

"Although it's clear that Kadhafi's rule is over, he still has the opportunity to reduce further bloodshed by explicitly relinquishing power to the people of Libya and calling for those forces that continue to fight to lay down their arms for the sake of Libya," said the US president.

Looking beyond Kadhafi's iron-fisted 42-year rule, Obama called for "an inclusive transition that leads to a democratic Libya" and warned the rebels against targeting regime loyalists.

"True justice will not come from reprisals and violence; it will come from reconciliation and a Libya that allows its citizens to determine their own destiny," Obama said behind a podium bearing the presidential seal, set up before a grove of trees.

"In that effort, the United States will be a friend and a partner," he said, vowing to meet the country's humanitarian needs with "critical supplies" and ultimately support the emerging government with Kadhafi's frozen assets.

But a US Treasury official said those assets, totaling roughly $37 billion dollars, were still locked up for now and that US sanctions on the Kadhafi regime remained in place.

And with a possible post-Kadhafi international peacekeeping mission on the horizon, the Pentagon ruled out the deployment of any US ground troops as part of a UN or NATO ground force.

"If there's going to be some type of transitional mission, that remains to be seen, whether it comes out of the UN or NATO," said a spokesman, Colonel Dave Lapan. "But we still do not plan any US forces going on the ground in Libya."

Dilematic Problems A debt deal and jobs, too : Obama's challenge

Dilematic Problems A debt deal and jobs, too : Obama's challenge

WASHINGTON (AP) — Immersed in an intense struggle to cut the national debt,

President Barack Obama faces a dilemma that will stay with him even if he succeeds in striking a grand deal with Congress: convincing Americans that the entire effort will do anything to create desperately needed jobs.

Obama ties deficit reduction to jobs, on the basis that trying to balance the nation's books will promote economic stability and give businesses more confidence to hire. But that's a tough sell to the millions of Americans out of work right now. And the communications problem just got harder.

The latest snapshot of the economy, out Friday, was a body blow that showed employers added a meager 18,000 jobs in June. The leaders of the country, meanwhile, are consumed with negotiating a major debt-reduction deal built upon cutting spending and raising taxes. It is not directly aimed at boosting jobs.

Obama's challenge is to link all this in meaningful terms and to get faster results. At stake are the country's economic recovery and his re-election chances.

The debt is the urgent problem for Obama and a divided Congress because they have no choice. Reaching a deal has become the key to winning Republican support for raising the nation's debt limit, a politically noxious vote that Congress must take by Aug. 2 to keep the nation from risking default for the first time ever.

"There's no question that this is a complex, almost impenetrable issue," said David Axelrod, a longtime Obama adviser and now a senior strategist to the president's re-election campaign. "It's not just the issue of the potential default, but it's the larger issue of what he's trying to get at, the opportunity of trying to do something big about the deficits and the debt. Big things are at stake, but they're hard to penetrate, so the process of dealing with them is painstaking."

Republicans, too, face the challenge of explaining and defending how cutting debt will create jobs in the short term. They won control of the House last year in large part because of voter anxiety about government spending and jobs. But it is Obama who bears the largest burden, as any president does.

In addressing the dismal jobs report, Obama made plain he knows what the country is thinking.

"The debate here in Washington's been dominated by issues of debt limit," Obama said. "But what matters most to Americans, and what matters to me most as president in the wake of the worst downturn in our lifetimes, is getting our economy on a sounder footing so the American people can have the security they deserve."

As an imperative unto itself, deficit reduction is embraced by all parties as vital for stabilizing the nation and shrinking the debt passed on to the next generations. And a failure to extend the nation's borrowing limit could cause a kind of enormous economic breakdown that would only worsen the employment picture.

Now under deadline pressure, Obama and congressional leaders of both parties were to hold a rare weekend negotiation session on Sunday on a debt-cutting package that remains far from certain.

They had been eyeing a deal to cut the deficit by roughly $4 trillion over a decade, but House Speaker John Boehner announced Saturday night he'd seek a smaller agreement of about $2 trillion because "the White House will not pursue a bigger debt reduction agreement without tax hikes." read more

Another RacistyTough Arizona immigration law faces legal challenges

A tough new anti-illegal immigration law in the US state of Arizona is facing its first legal challenges.
Critics say the new legislation, which requires police to question anyone they suspect may be in the country illegally, targets Hispanic minorities.
A Latino Christian group and an Arizona police officer have filed lawsuits.
Civil rights groups and the federal government say they may follow as President Barack Obama and Colombian popstar Shakira join the protests.
Even though most Arizonans support the measure, it has sparked protest and controversy nationwide.
Government must act
Arizona police will be required to stop and question anyone they reasonably suspect to be an illegal immigrant. If the person cannot prove their status, they can be arrested.
In a state of fewer than seven million people, nearly half a million are thought to be illegal.
Most come from Mexico looking for work, but Arizona's border is a busy route for drug smugglers.
Supporters of the new law say it will protect lawful residents. Opponents say anyone could be stopped simply because they look Hispanic.
Among the critics are President Obama and Shakira. The singer flew to Phoenix in Arizona to meet the city's mayor - who is also considering a legal challenge.
The one thing everyone agrees on is that the federal government needs to act on immigration. Where they differ is on how to do it.

 George Stephanopoulos Sexappeals
With the legal noose swiftly tightening around former Democratic Vice Presidential candidate John Edwards, it is likely many are having a hard time keeping his woes with the court separate from his manifold moral shortcomings. On ABC’s World News Tonight, George Stephanopoulos and Mediaite founder and ABC legal analyst Dan Abrams discussed how the court will likely sort out the illegal from the immoral, and what money transfers are in dispute. The charges against Edwards stem directly from behavior associated with his affair with Rielle Hunter, money that may have been used to keep the affair silent. Two of the sources of these funds, Edwards campaign finance chairman Fred Baron and donor Bunny Mellon, are having their donations investigated in particular. Despite the fact that Edwards’ behavior towards his family has mostly been universally reviled, argued Abrams, it takes more than being a bad person to go to jail. Discussing the money, he explained that the intent behind donating said money is what will ultimately determine the case. “If it was clearly intended to further John Edwards’ presidential campaign,” Abrams noted, “he could be in big trouble.” The other possible situation is that the money was clearly intended as a gift, which falls into a different category than a campaign donation legally, or that it was deliberately intended as “an effort to prevent Elizabeth Edwards from finding out about

USA doesn't Intend China Military

(CNN) -- China is building up its military capabilities, but does not intend to compete with the United States like the Soviet Union did, Defense Secretary Robert Gates said Thursday ahead of a summit in Asia.
Speaking to reporters on a flight to Singapore, Gates said that China is "clearly working on capabilities that are of concern to us."
He added, however, "I think that the Chinese have learned powerful lessons from the Soviet experience, and they do not intend to try to compete with us across the full range of military capabilities. But I think they are intending to build capabilities that give them a considerable freedom of action in Asia, and the opportunity to extend their influence."
During a visit to Washington earlier this month, China's top military officer said that there is a "gaping gap between the militaries of the United States and China.

The Republican-controlled House Isues RIP' Obama"

About Info, Tips dan triks, How to, Solution and Troubleshooting
Washington (CNN) -- The Republican-controlled House of Representatives issued a rebuke of President Barack Obama's Libya policy Friday, passing a measure declaring that the president has failed to provide a "compelling rationale" for military involvement in the North African country.
The non-binding resolution criticizes the president for insufficiently consulting Congress before launching air strikes in Libya and urges the administration not to put any ground troops in the country, something Obama has already promised not to do.
The measure, reflecting what GOP leaders consider a lack of presidential deference to the legislative branch, passed in a 268-145 vote. Most Republicans supported it, while most Democrats were opposed.
House members rejected a separate resolution offered by Rep. Dennis Kucinich, D-Ohio, calling for the withdrawal of U.S. forces from the NATO-led military operation. Kucinich's measure was defeated in a 148-265 vote. CNN

mitt romney sensuals astrologic

About Info, Tips dan triks, How to, Solution and Troubleshooting
Mitt Romney isn't having an easy go of it the second time around. First, Sarah Palin is headed to New Hampshire, stealing some of the spotlight from his big announcement just now. And then the cable networks carrying it live dropped him one by one, first MSNBC and Fox, and finally CNN, too. (Bet if he'd made aWeinergate reference they'd have stuck with him longer.)

Romney isn't a passion-and-charisma candidate, so his best bet is to focus on the economy. For the most part, he did this--and quite successfully, I thought. After his standard throat-clearing about America veering toward socialism, and the over-wrought comparisons with Europe, which always fall flat for me, Romney drew a fairly devastating portrait of the country's economic condition. He's trying to get the term "President Obama's misery index" to catch on, obviously intending to evoke Jimmy Carter (although he fell flat the last time he tried this in New Hampshire.) At the end of his riff, he declared, "Barack Obama has failed America." Then he segued into a discussion of his business career, and how he had approached difficult problems: "Ask tough questions, take on the toughest problems first." he said. I always find Romney most convincing when talking about his business experience. He certainly was here; he seemed comfortable, confident, and didn't trip the way he often does over his scripted lines. Of the various political personas he has inhabited over the years--from liberal Massachusetts governor to social-conservative firebrand the last time he ran for president--the current one is truest to his actual background. You can see glimpses of a plausible Republican frontrunner.

But I didn't see many of them, not through any failing of Romney's but because I'm in Washington watching--or trying to watch--on cable. And they've all cut away. Oh, well. Back to Weinergate, I guess. read more

Republicians press Obama for plan on spending cuts

About Info, Tips dan triks, How to, Solution and Troubleshooting
Mr Obama met House Republicans at the White House in his latest bid to end a standoff his administration warns could upset financial markets.
The US treasury department has warned the US risks default if Congress does not authorise more borrowing by August.
With the deficit set to hit $1.4tr this year, Republicans want spending cuts.
Leaders of both parties agree to the need to trim the budget, but Republicans have refused to allow tax increases, while Democrats have vowed to protect costly social programmes.
The US national debt is $14.3 trillion (£8.7 trillion), and the annual budget deficit is roughly $1.4 trillion.
The White House argues the United States would face "catastrophic" consequences if Congress does not raise the cap on total US government borrowing by 2 August.
'Not what Americans want' "If we're going to raise the debt limit, the spending cuts should exceed the increase in the debt limit, otherwise it will serve to cost us jobs in our country," House Speaker John Boehner told reporters outside the White House, following the meeting.
"It's not what the American people want," he added.
President Obama warned the meeting there could be dire consequences to failing to increase the US debt ceiling, White House spokesman Jay Carney said. Read more

Warsaw, Poland (CNN) -- President Barack Obama on Saturday criticized the government of Belarus, saying that the country was in an "unacceptable situation."
His remarks came in a speech in Warsaw with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.
Obama said that the president of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, has "a total disregard for democratic values and rule of law."
Lukashenko, once called "the last dictator in Europe" by a U.S. official, was re-elected last year in a contest that triggered massive protests and led to hundreds of arrests.
More recently, press freedom groups lashed out at a Belarusian court for the two-year suspended jail sentence of a reporter accused of "organizing and preparing a public order disruption" in connection with the protests surrounding the election.
Pressure must be applied to Belarus to get it to change its practices, Obama said, adding that he was familiar with the case of journalist Irina Khalip. read more
