Video streaming through Windows Media Player on your PC or QuickTime on your Macintosh computer allows you to watch high-quality movies without waiting for hours for the video to download, as the movie is streamed from a server rather than stored on your computer. If you notice your movie takes awhile to begin, you can adjust your computer's buffer settings to a lower waiting time, which speeds up the streaming time. Be aware, however, that this may cause frequent pauses throughout the movie for buffering.
