Because he believes that after four years of hard work, the u.s. economy will come back fresh, and he did not want Romney to claim success. Republicans Predict Romney will be the nominee

The poll results echo recent statements by the field of candidates. On Sunday, Newt Gingrich, falling further behind every day, admitted during an appearance on “Fox News Sunday” that his chance at grabbing the nomination are slim.
“Given the size of his organization, given the number of primaries he’s won, he is far and away the most likely Republican nominee,” he said. “If he does get to 1,144 delegates, I’ll support him. I’ll do everything I can this fall to help him beat President Obama.”
On the debut of former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee’s radio show Monday, Romney acknowledged Gingrich’s half-endorsement, and said that “in all likelihood” he would hit the delegate mark needed to seize the nomination.
Pew’s poll was conducted from April 5-8 with a sample of 1,000 adults, interviewed via telephone and with a margin of error of plus or minus 4%.  Source LA Times

Former Philippine president Election fraud as she fights for right to leave Country

Former Philippine president Election fraud as she fights for right to leave Country

In a legal victory for Arroyo, the Supreme Court upheld her right to travel, at least temporarily, until a lower court delivers a new ruling on whether she can leave the country now that formal charges have been filed.
The Supreme Court decision could set the stage for a possible second airport showdown this week, with Arroyo’s aides saying she could board a plane out of Manila later Friday and the government adamant to stop her.
In a drama that has galvanized the Philippines, Arroyo tried to leave the country Tuesday with her husband, saying she needed the expertise of foreign medical facilities. But she was stopped at the Manila airport by authorities who said she was still under investigation, and that she might become a fugitive.
The election fraud charges, which carry a penalty of 40 years imprisonment, were filed Friday by the Commission on Election at the Pasay Regional Trial Court in Manila.
Judge Jesus Mupas will now decide whether to issue an arrest warrant, said Elections Commission Chairman Sixto Brillantes. He said he also asked for a court order barring Arroyo’s travel.
Arroyo has denied any wrongdoing, and her legal spokesman Raul Lambino said Friday the case against her has been fabricated.
“This is a high form of injustice,” Lambino said.
Arroyo lawyer Ferdinand Topacio deplored the “indecent haste” and criticized what he said was the government’s “emerging pattern of persecution.”
The Supreme Court last week granted Arroyo a temporary clearance to travel, but the government still refused to let her go, with Justice Secretary Leila de Lima saying she may be seeking political asylum abroad.
In the fast-moving legal drama, the Supreme Court on Friday rejected the government’s travel ban on Arroyo that was issued before the formal charges were filed. Court spokesman Midas Marquez said that Arroyo and her husband were free to leave until another court rules otherwise.
The charges stem from allegations that Arroyo conspired with officials to tamper with results of 2007 congressional polls to favor her candidates.
Now that charges have been filed, Arroyo likely faces arrest, Sen. Francis Escudero said.
Arroyo was recovering in the hospital since her failed attempt to leave the country Tuesday, and it was doubtful she would be immediately hauled to jail even if the arrest warrant was issued.
After stepping down last year, Arroyo, 64, was elected to the House of Representatives and immediately faced at least half a dozen complaints, also alleging she diverted state funds for her campaign effort and benefited from foreign contracts.
The Justice Department is still investigating the other complaints.
Her successor and staunch critic, President Benigno Aquino III, was overwhelmingly elected on promises to rid the Philippines of corruption and has said he wants to start with Arroyo.
Arroyo would be the second Philippine president to face trial, after her predecessor, Joseph Estrada, was toppled in a 2001 military-backed revolt on corruption charges and sentenced to life. He was later pardoned by Arroyo  READ MORE

Obama's stated guilty by Repulicans in Gop Debate and Presidential Debate

Obama's stated guilty by Repulicans in Gop Debate and Presidential Debate
Republican presidential contenders blamed the federal government on Tuesday for the struggling economy and harshly criticized Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke during the early stages of a 2012 debate.

Several of the Republicans seeking the nomination to unseat President Barack Obama in 2012 said government policies had led to the economic slowdown and refused to place blame on Wall Street or corporations.

"I think if you look at the problem with the economic meltdown, you can trace it right back to the federal government," Representative Michele Bachmann said in a debate at Dartmouth College in New Hampshire.

"It was the federal government that demanded that banks and mortgage companies lower platinum level lending standards to new lows," she said. "It was the federal government that pushed the subprime loans."

Former U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Newt Gingrich said politicians were to blame for the economy and pointed the finger at Bernanke and Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner.

"The first person to fire is Bernanke, who is a disastrous chairman of the Federal Reserve. The second person to fire is Geithner," he said.

"The fact is, in both the Bush and the Obama administrations, the fix has been in and I think it's perfectly reasonable for people to be angry," he said. "But let's be clear who put the fix in: The fix was put in by the federal government."

The debate, the seventh in the Republican race for the White House, was focused on economic issues.

The candidates also took shots at Obama for his role in the sagging economy.

"Three years ago we selected a person who'd never had any leadership experience, never worked in the private sector, never had the opportunity to actually bring people together, and he hasn't been able to do so," former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney said.

"He said he'd bring us hope and change. Instead he's divided the nation and tried to blame other people," he said.

Romney, whose 2008 White House bid failed, has retaken the lead in polls over Texas Governor Rick Perry but has still not won over conservatives who remember his past support in Massachusetts for abortion rights and a healthcare mandate.

Romney's campaign got a big boost on Tuesday when New Jersey Republican Governor Chris Christie, who is popular within the party, endorsed his candidacy.

The debate in New Hampshire comes three months before the first voting in the Republican race.

Perry was under pressure in the debate after a string of poor performances cost him his front-runner role.

A housewife is complaining about being harassed and courted by another woman.
To deal with her unwanted and unusual "pursuer", she has lodged a police report and brought the matter to her husband, and her pursuer's husband.
Yes, that's right, her pursuer's husband. And this is how it started.
Mdm Chen (42, housewife) met her pursuer in August last year when she was bringing her 5-year-old son to attend kindergarten.
The other woman is 36 years old, from China, and the parent of a friend of Mdm Chen's son. She is said to be married to a Singaporean and has two children like Mdm Chen.
The two women hit it off well when they met and even paid visits to each other to chat. Unknown to Mdm Chen, the younger woman harboured feelings for her.
Some time later, the younger woman boldly confessed her feelings to Mdm Chen.
An SMS from the younger woman read, "I like you. It doesn't matter how others see me, or how my husband scolds me, it doesn't change the fact that I like you."
After her confession, the younger woman began to dress like a man and earnestly began to court Mdm Chen. She declared to Mdm Chen that she is bisexual and even began to send Mdm Chen lewd SMSes regularly.
Mdm Chen rejected the younger woman's advances but continued to be pestered by her. Mdm Chen finally got the SMSes to stop only after she used her husband's phone to message the younger woman to warn her off.
Mdm Chen also contacted the younger woman's husband about this. The man replied that his wife was acting abnormally due to mood swings and insisted that his wife is not bisexual. He also apologised to Mdm Chen on his wife's behalf.
But Mdm Chen feels that the apology lacks sincerity and has since lodged a police report alleging sexual harassment from the younger woman.

US will be 'partner' Libyan As Khadafi Breakdown

US will be 'partner' Libyan As Khadafi Breakdown

US President Barack Obama on Monday pressed Libyan strongman Moamer Kadhafi to explicitly give up power and warned joyful rebels against his rule that their struggle was "not over yet."

"But this much is clear: The Kadhafi regime is coming to an end, and the future of Libya is in the hands of its people," Obama said from his vacation retreat on the posh resort island of Martha's Vineyard.

Obama said he had spoken to British Prime Minister David Cameron and that US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton had held other high-level talks as the West planned for the post-Kadhafi era six months after the uprising began.

The US president, who has faced fire from lawmakers for his handling of the conflict, promised Libya's people that Washington will be "a friend and a partner" as the strife-torn country grapples with the "huge challenges ahead."

With fighting still raging in Tripoli despite rebel claims to hold the city, Obama warned that "the situation is still very fluid, there remains a degree of uncertainty, and there are still regime elements who pose a threat."

"Although it's clear that Kadhafi's rule is over, he still has the opportunity to reduce further bloodshed by explicitly relinquishing power to the people of Libya and calling for those forces that continue to fight to lay down their arms for the sake of Libya," said the US president.

Looking beyond Kadhafi's iron-fisted 42-year rule, Obama called for "an inclusive transition that leads to a democratic Libya" and warned the rebels against targeting regime loyalists.

"True justice will not come from reprisals and violence; it will come from reconciliation and a Libya that allows its citizens to determine their own destiny," Obama said behind a podium bearing the presidential seal, set up before a grove of trees.

"In that effort, the United States will be a friend and a partner," he said, vowing to meet the country's humanitarian needs with "critical supplies" and ultimately support the emerging government with Kadhafi's frozen assets.

But a US Treasury official said those assets, totaling roughly $37 billion dollars, were still locked up for now and that US sanctions on the Kadhafi regime remained in place.

And with a possible post-Kadhafi international peacekeeping mission on the horizon, the Pentagon ruled out the deployment of any US ground troops as part of a UN or NATO ground force.

"If there's going to be some type of transitional mission, that remains to be seen, whether it comes out of the UN or NATO," said a spokesman, Colonel Dave Lapan. "But we still do not plan any US forces going on the ground in Libya."

Embattled Democratic Rep. David Wu reportedly will not seek re-election next year, following a news report that he engaged in "aggressive and unwanted sexual behavior" with a young woman.

Wu, an Oregon Democrat, made the decision late Sunday following calls for an ethics investigation by House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and Rep. Steve Israel of New York, chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.

Wu's decision to skip the 2012 elections was reported by The Oregonian and Politico, citing unnamed sources. The Portland newspaper, which broke the news about the unwanted sexual encounter on Friday evening, cites confirmation from a senior Democratic official. Politico cites an adviser to Wu, who was first elected in 1998.吴大维不会再次运行中的绯闻 /David Wu won't run again amid sex scandal in night1001month

The Oregonian reported Friday evening that a young woman left a distraught message with the seven-term Democrat's Portland office accusing him of "aggressive and unwanted sexual behavior." The young woman, who apparently graduated from high school in 2010, is the daughter of one of Wu's longtime friends who was also a donor to his campaign.

Wu told his staff that the sexual relationship with the unidentified woman was consensual, the newspaper said. The encounter occurred over Thanksgiving weekend.

In a statement Sunday, Pelosi expressed "deep disappointment and sadness" about Wu's situation as she called on the House ethics committee to launch an investigation. Israel said in his statement that he "strongly" agreed with Pelosi's request, and called the allegations about Wu's behavior "extremely serious and disturbing."

Dilematic Problems A debt deal and jobs, too : Obama's challenge

Dilematic Problems A debt deal and jobs, too : Obama's challenge

WASHINGTON (AP) — Immersed in an intense struggle to cut the national debt,

President Barack Obama faces a dilemma that will stay with him even if he succeeds in striking a grand deal with Congress: convincing Americans that the entire effort will do anything to create desperately needed jobs.

Obama ties deficit reduction to jobs, on the basis that trying to balance the nation's books will promote economic stability and give businesses more confidence to hire. But that's a tough sell to the millions of Americans out of work right now. And the communications problem just got harder.

The latest snapshot of the economy, out Friday, was a body blow that showed employers added a meager 18,000 jobs in June. The leaders of the country, meanwhile, are consumed with negotiating a major debt-reduction deal built upon cutting spending and raising taxes. It is not directly aimed at boosting jobs.

Obama's challenge is to link all this in meaningful terms and to get faster results. At stake are the country's economic recovery and his re-election chances.

The debt is the urgent problem for Obama and a divided Congress because they have no choice. Reaching a deal has become the key to winning Republican support for raising the nation's debt limit, a politically noxious vote that Congress must take by Aug. 2 to keep the nation from risking default for the first time ever.

"There's no question that this is a complex, almost impenetrable issue," said David Axelrod, a longtime Obama adviser and now a senior strategist to the president's re-election campaign. "It's not just the issue of the potential default, but it's the larger issue of what he's trying to get at, the opportunity of trying to do something big about the deficits and the debt. Big things are at stake, but they're hard to penetrate, so the process of dealing with them is painstaking."

Republicans, too, face the challenge of explaining and defending how cutting debt will create jobs in the short term. They won control of the House last year in large part because of voter anxiety about government spending and jobs. But it is Obama who bears the largest burden, as any president does.

In addressing the dismal jobs report, Obama made plain he knows what the country is thinking.

"The debate here in Washington's been dominated by issues of debt limit," Obama said. "But what matters most to Americans, and what matters to me most as president in the wake of the worst downturn in our lifetimes, is getting our economy on a sounder footing so the American people can have the security they deserve."

As an imperative unto itself, deficit reduction is embraced by all parties as vital for stabilizing the nation and shrinking the debt passed on to the next generations. And a failure to extend the nation's borrowing limit could cause a kind of enormous economic breakdown that would only worsen the employment picture.

Now under deadline pressure, Obama and congressional leaders of both parties were to hold a rare weekend negotiation session on Sunday on a debt-cutting package that remains far from certain.

They had been eyeing a deal to cut the deficit by roughly $4 trillion over a decade, but House Speaker John Boehner announced Saturday night he'd seek a smaller agreement of about $2 trillion because "the White House will not pursue a bigger debt reduction agreement without tax hikes." read more

Delaware police said Friday they were investigating the reported communications, had interviewed the teen, and that "she has made no disclosure of criminal activity nor inappropriate contact by the Congressman."

The larger message, in this latest round of news, may be simply that Weiner's efforts to hold onto his job now hinge partly on what emerges in a continuing "drip, drip" of evidence from his online activities and from others involved in those communications.

The congressman, while apologizing for both his online behavior and for lying about it initially, has said he has broken no laws and intends to remain in office.
Rep. Anthony Weiner's efforts to hold onto his job hinge on what emerges in a continuing drip, drip of evidence from his online 'sexting' activities. Many of his constituents say he should resign.

Another RacistyTough Arizona immigration law faces legal challenges

A tough new anti-illegal immigration law in the US state of Arizona is facing its first legal challenges.
Critics say the new legislation, which requires police to question anyone they suspect may be in the country illegally, targets Hispanic minorities.
A Latino Christian group and an Arizona police officer have filed lawsuits.
Civil rights groups and the federal government say they may follow as President Barack Obama and Colombian popstar Shakira join the protests.
Even though most Arizonans support the measure, it has sparked protest and controversy nationwide.
Government must act
Arizona police will be required to stop and question anyone they reasonably suspect to be an illegal immigrant. If the person cannot prove their status, they can be arrested.
In a state of fewer than seven million people, nearly half a million are thought to be illegal.
Most come from Mexico looking for work, but Arizona's border is a busy route for drug smugglers.
Supporters of the new law say it will protect lawful residents. Opponents say anyone could be stopped simply because they look Hispanic.
Among the critics are President Obama and Shakira. The singer flew to Phoenix in Arizona to meet the city's mayor - who is also considering a legal challenge.
The one thing everyone agrees on is that the federal government needs to act on immigration. Where they differ is on how to do it.
