HONG KONG - Actress Cecilia Cheung has reportedly given up her share of Nicholas Tse's estimated HK$600 million (S$92.6 million) fortune to gain residential custody of her two sons, Hong Kong newspaper Apple Daily said.

Cheung and Tse announced their divorce on Monday in a statement, and said they would raise their children, Quintus, one, and Lucas, four, together. Details of their divorce settlement were not mentioned.

But according to an Apple Daily story published yesterday, Cheung had agreed to forego her half-portion - HK$300 million - of Tse's wealth, so her sons could live with her.

In exchange, Tse will still share custody of the kids with Cheung, and he and his family will have visitation rights.

Tse will also put half of the HK$600 million into a fund for his sons, which will be accessible to them when they grow up, the report said.
A monthly alimony of HK$100,000 will be given to Cheung as well.

Since he was 18, Tse's wealth has been managed by his mother. Among his assets are a film post production company, a HK$100 million property in the Chung Hom Kok area, and shops along central Hong Kong's Lyndhurst Terrace.

Opposition Member of Parliament Chen Show Mao has announced that he will be retiring from his law practice to concentrate fully on politics.
The Workers' Party member posted on his Facebook on Friday morning that he will be retiring as partner of the Davis Polk firm from July onwards.
"It is quite clear to me that given my new responsibilities as MP I will not be able to continue practicing law the way I have in the last twenty years.
"Meanwhile, my retirement from the partnership will afford me more time for my family, to serve constituency and country, and to explore alternative work arrangements," he said in the post.
Mr Chen was part of the Workers' Party team who made history by winning a Group Representation Constituency in the recent May 7 General Election.
He also thanked his partners for their help over the years.
"I have had many good years with the firm and leave with fond memories and many friendships," he said.
Mr Chen was a Rhodes Scholar who studied at Oxford and Harvard University. more info about Chen Show Mao
