The 7 Billionth Babies All Over The World

one in Baghpat district in Uttar Pradesh and another one in Philippines.
Pinky Pawar conceived just one month after her marriage with Sachin. They married in Jan 2011. When their baby saw the first light of he world, another baby was also born at the same time in Philippines.

After delivering her baby, Pinky said, "I was very happy when I was told the news. The officials from London even asked me what I would name my child."

Danica May Camacho was born in a full packed government hospital in Philippines as media people along with other general people gathered at the hospital to witness the birth of the 7 billionth baby.

"She looks so lovely. I can't believe she is the world's seven billionth," uttered Camacho's mother after the first encounter with newly born.

Philippines is the 12th most populous country in the world with 94.9 million people, report submitted by UN Population Fund (UNFPA) State of the World Population stated.

The 7 Billionsth Babies Indonesia
President SBY Named to 7 Billionth Babies in Indonesia Today
"Her warning in the form of the name by the president. Time and place are being drafted, probably in East Java or West Java," said Head of Population and Family Planning (BKKBN), Sugiri Syarief detikHealth when contacted on Monday (31/10/2011).

According to Sugiri, warning baby seventh billion in new Indonesia will be conducted on Tuesday (11/01/2011). Because the new baby will be born today, then the company was to collect data to determine a baby who will represent the world's seventh-born population billion.

Therefore, all the babies born today have a chance to become a baby seven billion. But with the calculations and specific criteria, BKKBN will only choose a baby as a symbolic warning to realize that the world is getting full.

Sugiri not explain more details about these calculations, but the technical calculations conducted several countries seem more simple. For example, babies born to first time on Monday (11/31/2011) regarded as the world's seven billion inhabitants.

For example in the Philippines, a baby born two minutes before midnight on Sunday (30/10/2011). By representatives of the UN in the country, baby girl named Danica May Camacho is directly named symbolically as seven billion baby.

If the baby is seven billion in Indonesia commemorated by naming the president, other countries have their own way to commemorate. For example as reported detikNews, in Russia, the government set up a special gift while in Côte d'Ivoire will be held a comedy show.

Far-flung Russian regions compete for '7th billion baby'

Two of Russia's furthest-flung regions at opposite ends of the planet were at odds on Monday over which could claim the symbolic birth of the world's "seventh billion baby" in the country.
State television broadcast pictures of a newly-born boy in the Russian exclave of Kalingrad which borders EU members Lithuania and Poland, saying he had been designated by the authorities as the talismanic newly-born.
But nine times zones away at the other end of the Earth, the government in the Kamchatka region on the Pacific Ocean issued a proud statement saying it had hosted the birth of the "seventh billion" in its main city Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
Wary of putting too much spotlight on a single individual, the United Nations has said it will not designate a single official seventh billion baby as the world's population hits seven billion on Monday.
This has opened the way for countries around the world to claim their own "seventh billion".
Kaliningrad -- former German East Prussia annexed by the Soviet Union after World War II -- said that Pyotr Nikolayev was designated a seventh billion baby by the United Nations just after his birth at midnight to mother Elena.
But the governor of Kamchatka Vladimir Ilyukhin said in a statement that Alexander, born to mother Marina Bogdanova at 19 minutes after midnight local time was the "seventh billion baby" by virtue of being the first to be born in Russia that day.
"Of course there are going to be many claimants for the seventh billion," Ilyukhin said in a statement.
"But our country, as we know, begins with Kamchatka. So we think a Kamchatkan boy was the first born in Russia on the day of seven billion," he added.
Russia is facing one of the world's biggest demographic challenges after low reproduction rates, poor public health and immigration resulted in a dramatic shrinking of the population since the fall of the USSR.
According to the results of Russia's 2010 census, the population shrank by 2.2 million people since 2002 and is now at just under 143 million.
With the campaign to reverse the trend championed by Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, Russia's regions are keen to show they are doing all they can to boost the population.
According to the UN Population Fund, the cities of Saint Petersburg, Kaliningrad and Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky were chosen to have the first babies born after midnight given special certificates as being born on the day of seven billion.

Hispanics became the largest minority group in 191 metro areas in 2010
BBC News (14 April 2011)

New figures by the US Census Bureau show Hispanics now outnumber African Americans for the first time in most metropolitan areas.  The figures, from the 2010 Census, illustrate the growing diversity of the 366 metro areas in the US, which are home to 83.7% of the US population.  Hispanics became the largest minority group in 191 of the areas last year.  The data could influence redistricting lines in many states, where political maps are drawn based on population.

The figures released on Thursday are important for the US political process because population determines the number of members a state has in the House of Representatives.  And states draw their own district lines, often taking ethnic voting into account.

Hispanic growth

That Hispanic populations have become the biggest minority groups in an increasing number of metropolitan areas - 191, up from 159 in the 2000 Census - is in part attributed to black populations moving south, leaving behind economically troubled cities in the northern part of the country.  New metropolitan areas where Hispanic populations rose include: Chicago, Illinois; Grand Rapids, Michigan; and Atlantic City, New Jersey - all regions that will lose US House seats in the 2012 elections because of overall population changes.

Last month, the Census Bureau said the total Hispanic population in the US jumped 42% in the last 10 years to 50.5m, the equivalent of one in six Americans.

Black populations increased 11% to 37.7m, or about one in 10 Americans.  "A greater Hispanic presence is now evident in all parts of the country - in large and small metropolitan areas, in the Snowbelt [northern states] and in the Sunbelt [southern states]," William Frey, a demographer at the Brookings Institution, told the Associated Press news agency.
